The Untouchables

Why is everybody saying that Sir Alex Ferguson is a genius when he signed up Michael Owen today?

Do you think Phil Brown or Tony Pulis would be called genius also should they signed Owen last week? These were the guys who made statements about recruiting Owen before.

I think not.

I have always noticed that the media will not say anything negative about Sir Alex. After Man Utd were beaten 4 to 1 by Liverpool at Old Trafford, he even said they were the better team from that match. Nobody said anything about it. But, when Senor Benitez spoken some facts about Sir Alex – the incident was famously known as Rafa’s Rant!

I am not sure about this recruitment though. I felt bad when Owen snubbed Rafa in 2005 to go to Real Madrid. I also felt bad for him since he was going down hill from that moment. If Sir Alex manages to revive his career – so be it.

Cheers.

Protected Twitter Account

ScreenHunter_42I am not sure whether I hate these guys or may be I think there is something wrong with them. They opened up social media account such as Twitter but block themselves from the world. They only allow “certain” people to follow them.

What an a**?

In my book this is not the way to go about putting yourself in this kind of environment. You should allow anyone to follow you and then you make a choice to block them later.

You should give people chance to give you something thru those tweets. If you do no like them, simple block the follower later. It is that simple.

Another thing about this is that the account owner did not put up any photo of him or herself.

Cheers.

Tesco Kajang Can Take Off the Q-Buster Signs

What a promise by Tesco Kajang or may be Tesco all over Malaysia. A promise, in my case, that was not kept. It happened about 1 hour ago when I was in the line to pay for my groceries.

Tesco Q Buster

The Q-Buster (as they are known in Tesco) stated that if there are 2 trolleys in front of you at the cashier line, they will open another counter for you (with disclaimer – unless all counters are open).

I did not see all counters were opened just now. In fact only 6 counters were operating to serve quite a large number of customers.

This is the “trolleys” in front of me.

Tesco Q Cheers.

Traffic Madness

Yesterday evening was terrible.

It took my wife about 1.5 hours to reach my office. Traffic madness in KL due to a down pour. End of the day, we reached home around 8.30 pm. 3 hours after my wife started the journey home from her office. It was like round trip travelling from KL to our hometown.

Adjustments & cancellations were made to several matters – tuition, nursery pick ups, music class, etc!

My main concern about this phenomena is the cost to be incurred by all of us. Fuel – this invisible “waste” is the monster hiding underneath the smoke from the exhaust system. We can never ascertain the amount of money wasted in traffic jammed. For me, if the amount of time wasted in this madness is equal to that of a round trip journey to my home town, then the amount of money wasted is the amount of money spend on the trip back home. And that is tons of money considering thousands of us got stuck in the “zone”.

For those who are putting up their kids in a nursery – the overtime charges are the silent killer. Something that is not fixed and can range from small to a huge bills at the end of the month. In addition to that, people tend to buy fast food to make “quick” dinner for the family and we all know the cost of these fast food.

I can go on and on about the cost incurred with this madness.

So, I am listing my wish list to improve the situation or at least make me feel better …

  • The authority responsible for the traffic management should introduce a “severity code” to be announced on the radio. This will help the users to make better decision while they are on the road.
  • Toll operator or JKR should put up posters to curse all those who cut Qs! If summons are not deterring them, may be cursing will do. :)
  • Stop all those nonsense traffic update on the radio. They are not accurate and too subjective. Severity code can address this.

Cheers.
